Okay, so after reading some of other tatters blogs, I think I owe an appology - some of you TOTALLY get the fractal geometry and tatting connection.  Sorry about the simplistic description of the subject as well.

I never would have guessed there are mathematical fiber arts competitions. 

So has anyone studied fractal geometry formally?  I told someone yesterday that if I had any inclination to get a Phd, I would definitely focus on fractal geometry.
